Glasgow Girls & Boys FC hosted the SFA & McDonalds “Community Fun Day” at our Budhill Park facility on Saturday 8th August from 10am-3pm.
The day attracted an amazing 5500 visitors who were counted as they entered the 2 entrances to the park, this included Players, Parents & Families but also locals & supporters from the surrounding areas.
The event was attended by Scotland Assistant Manager, Mark McGhee & Leanne Ross who has over 100 caps for Scotland National Women’s team they were also accompanied by Darryl Broadfoot (SFA Media) & Andrea Rennie (SFA Marketing Manager) Both Mark & Leanne held a Q&A with all the players and you can view the video below.
On the day the club had

- Merry Go Rounds
- Beat The GK
- McDonalds Inflatable 5 A-Side pitch with matches arranged by Glasgow Life Staff
- Speed Shot Challange
- Mascots including 2 x Minions, 2 x Ninja Turtles and Elsa & Anna from Frozen.
- Market Stalls with goods from home made sweets to toys and hairbands
- DJ, who played all day and kept the children dancing
- Easterhouse Fire Brigade
- Bo’ness, Burnbank & Finnart Football Clubs
The club would like ti thank Andrew Gibson local McDonalds Franchisee who sponsors the clubs and local councillors David Turner & Frank McAveety who came along to try their skills.
We would like to thank McDonalds for all their hard work and help on the day, SFA West Region who supported the club in this event and Glasgow Life who provided staff, but last word has to go to all the children of all ages who really enjoyed the day & fun and to the mascots who made the event ad all the Players & Volunteers
