15's

Parents v Players

On Sunday 21st Dec at St Andrews High in Coatbridge the girls under 15s were beaten or should I say taught a football lesson by their dads.
The game ended 8-6 to the dads who in the 3rd period allowed the girls to have 13 players on the field.
The dads whos team had an average age of 36 showed the girls how football should be played with their slick passing and movement, we hope the girls learned from this game and come back stronger next season. The dads with no warm-up or team talk or even cool down warmed up for the game with jokes and tales of their footballing past.
Highlight of the match was when Shannon Sharkey took control of the ball with plenty of time when a shout was herd "Man on" to which Shannon booted the ball out of the park only to discover then that it was a dad that shouted it ! Oh well lesson learned. The six goals for the girls were 2 penalties and 4 offside goals the dads goals were all world class.
Everyone enjoyed the game and the return leg will be next Xmas for all
age groups.
