'The Pride of the East-end'

Glasgow Girls & Women FC

The Glasgow Girls & Women FC “GoFitba” programme, in partnership with the Scottish Football Partnership Trust, provides targeted health and fitness education and physical activity sessions for children in the later stages of primary education, aiming to embed good habits for future health and wellbeing.

Participants enjoy a football session delivered by our community coaches followed by classroom based activities on health and wellbeing, including diet and nutrition.

The programme has been specially devised to support Curriculum for Excellence’s Health and Wellbeing outcomes in a fun way, providing young children with a platform of regular physical activity and lifestyle education, but it also aims to build motivation, self-confidence, social skills and self-esteem.

We are grateful to the Scottish Football Partnership Trust for their support for this project.
