"Playing & Training Facility"

Glasgow Girls FC have now submitted the plans for our new facility at Budhill. The plans include three changing rooms and an equipment & storage area. The Scottish Football Partnership have awarded the club three changing rooms 1 x Home, 1 x Away, 1 x Referee.

The plans also include a coaches room where team tactics & match paperwork etc can be completed.

The total cost of the changing rooms, storage units & floodlights £35,000 (already awarded) with costs of approx £12,000 for building work etc. (funds already in place)

The grass area will have both an 11 aside & 7 aside park on it and their is also a floodlit enclosed football/basketball "Mugga" astoturf area already built for the under 9s & 11s to train. At the moment this floodlit astroturf £30,000 "Mugga" court is not used by the local youth and we would put this to use with our young teams.

Coaches Deliver

Programme

The Tesco Bank Football Challenge is a four-year community programme run in partnership with the Scottish FA. The programme will use the power of football to get Primary 2 and Primary 3 children (6-8 years old) active, not only at school but by establishing long-lasting activity week in, week out.

The aim is to engage 72,000 boys and girls of all levels and abilities in, at least, 1600 primary schools across Scotland in half a million coaching hours.

Glasgow Girls FC coaches on behalf of The Football Development Department of Glasgow Life, will visit each school for a six-week programme of coaching sessions with an emphasis on fun, movement and involvement. The programme is essentially an introduction to football and is designed to increase participation, enhance enjoyment and develop a range of physical and social skills.

After the initial six weeks the Challenge will continue at the schools through teachers and volunteers.

The programme is part of Tesco Bank’s commitment to making a positive contribution in local communities.

The Tesco football festival will take place at the home of Glasgow Girls FC "Greenfield Football Centre"
